COUNSELLOR

Suzann Douglas is a warm empathic counsellor, who creates a space where clients have a place to focus on themselves.  She listens in an attuned way to the client to support them with any issues that might be impacting them.  Suzann believes talking therapy can be very healing and a great way to offload thoughts and emotions and make one’s own connections.  She adopts an integrative approach exploring with the client their present view of issues and the impact of these on the client (Humanistic), and also how past events may be influencing the present (Psychodynamic).  The client is enabled to open up, offload feelings and be seen and heard. Suzann has supported clients through a range of issues, including anxiety and trauma.  She has also counselled clients for the NHS.

Suzann has a creative background of singing and also many years experience of working in Financial Services.  Life experience has given Suzann a passion for understanding and supporting people with the complexities of family dynamics and the impact of trauma on people.  She also has an interest in inter-culturalism and unconscious bias and the impact of these on psyche. Suzann’s background has given her the experience and insight of the pressure we can be under to achieve, operate and present to the world, and the underlying issues that can be taking place underneath.
